SMOKE & MIRRORS
I’ve been affascinated by the victorian era graphics since I can remember. Posters, labels, fonts, illustrations and so on. Not in the position to collects original items and not on behalf of silly scanned & reprinted stuff I thought it could be an idea to recreate them by myself, with all the freedom to imagine things that in reality had never been but, using the right visual imaginary, could fit in that historical period as they had really been.
Theatrical posters from films of our days, Madame Richard -psychic & medium , Moses & Rosco barber shop, the Sons of Heka magic society, an impossible world made concrete by the existence of a trace of their passage. They are some kind of magical deceptions. smoke and mirrors, to amuse the eye and embellish your place, your office, your street.
I live and work in Milan, Italy.
In love with late 1800 posters and weird advertising.
Sometimes work for pubs, shops and private customers.
